Overcoming Travel Sickness

Whether you are travelling overseas on business to view commercial property for sale, or you're taking a trip to visit faraway family, if you suffer from flight sickness, your journey is not likely to be a comfortable one. In order to ensure that you feel as well as is possible in the circumstances, it is always a good idea to take certain precautions.

To start with, you should try not to eat anything too heavy or rich before embarking on your flight. Go for a light meal, and make sure that you are sufficiently hydrated as well. In fact, once you get through security, it is a good idea to pick up a bottle of carbonated water; the bubbles will help to settle your stomach.

Stock up on anti-motion sickness medication before you get onto the plane as well. There are several good brands available on the market today and some of these come in a non-drowsy formulation.

If you can, bring a piece of fresh ginger onto the flight with you and chew it as you begin to take off. Ginger naturally combats nausea and will help to keep you feeling stable. In addition, focus on taking deep breathes in through your nose and out through your mouth; regular sips from your water bottle are also a good idea.

Flight sickness can be a real problem, but luckily it is quite easily overcome. Make sure you are prepared for a bout of nausea on the plane so that if you begin to feel sick, you have the remedies on hand.
