This Pan London ESF Research Project focuses on Tackling Disadvantage, Disengagement and Discrimination in London's Labour Market.
With attention concentrating on the development of skills and progression routes into employment, it is important to ensure that successful projects working with disadvantaged groups are recognised and that the learning is shared more widely across adult learning providers.
The research will include a range of research techniques, including in-depth interviews and focus groups, and will be drawing out the key challenges that both projects and learners have to overcome, in order to successfully enter the employment market. The results will be widely disseminated and a CD Rom containing a database and good practice information will be made available in 2007.
The findings of this research project will create an important body of information for training providers either working or developing their approaches to working with specific types of disadvantaged groups. It will help link training providers with each other, inform policy makers and advisors and will also be of interest to local employers.
